It’s that time of year again.
It is back-to-school time…when the ads on TV are almost as frequent (and as annoying) as political advertising in October. (Some folks already started this week! I’m glad I’m not a kid, these days…)
But this announcement isn’t the traditional back-to-school announcement.
This is specifically intended for those of you in the Bradenton/Sarasota area who are looking forward to heading back to the adult- and continuing-education classroom, specifically with ME!
The Lifelong Learning Academy has published their Fall 2014 Course Catalog.
The fall term runs from September 29 through November 20, 2014. I am scheduled to teach two classes, both on Tuesday mornings at the USF-Sarasota/Manatee campus.
- 9:00 am – Iron Author – If you are a writer who would like to experiment, have your creativity stirred, and face the challenge of writing in new and bold ways, this is the class for you. In the spirit of the hit cooking show, Iron Chef, participants in the Iron Author class will be challenged with a new set of “ingredients” every week. Using these ingredients, you will be asked to create something brand new that can be shared with the class.
- 11:00 am – Reading as a Writer: Cormac McCarthy – We will be reading and analyzing both Blood Meridian and The Road.
Registration for members of the academy will begin August 11th, and non-members can sign up starting August 18th. You can get more information at the Lifelong Learning Academy website.
I hope those of you in the area will join me for some fun, new classes.
