Sometime during the day, yesterday, my blog had it’s 20,000 visit…

Yes, there are blogs that receive that many visits every week. Some every day. The Really Big Boys probably pull in 20,000 hits in an hour sometimes.

I get it. I’m still small potatoes.

But, for me, this was a big milestone. It took me 20 months to get my first 10,000 visits logged. (Yes. I’m a writer, but I’m also pretty good with math. I DO KNOW what that WORKS OUT TO.)

It only took about four and a half months to get the next 10,000. (I can figure out those numbers, as well.) 🙂

I am so thankful for everyone who stops by and reads my ramblings, but I especially want to thank those of you–friends, family, and a whole slew of folks I’ve never even had the pleasure of meeting–who are regular readers, subscribers, and participants in this humble little corner of the web. Interacting with you over the last few months has been very rewarding. I hope this is a trend that continues for years to come.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Have a great Wednesday, and Happy Writing!

Blogging Milestone: Onward and Upward

  • Congrats! That is awesome. It sounds huge to me (I’ve been up and running for 2 weeks).

I’m glad you shared this milestone – especially the part about the 4.5 months for the next 10k. It makes things seem more feasible for those of us who are itty-bitty tiny potatoes.

    • Oh, trust me, I remember well the days when a half-dozen hits were the norm. It takes persistence and steady attention, and a fair amount of good will of other bloggers. Keep on keeping on!

      • Thanks for the encouragement (and for following my blog).

Based on your comment, I guess I should be pretty pleased with myself that I’m averaging just shy of 30 hits a day this early in the game.

Look out, world! Here I come! 🙂

        • Yes, that’s a good start. Just don’t get discouraged if the traffic stays level for a while. For me, and it seems others, too, the growth jumps happen in spurts.

  • That is REALLY good to know. I’m the sort of person who would fret over that a few weeks from now. So far, I’ve been quite happy that the numbers haven’t dropped off (did you see the Freshly Pressed item titled something like, “My Blog Is Giving Me the Finger?”).
